Boyd Gaming Corporation is a major American gaming and hospitality corporation founded in 1975 by Sam Boyd. Headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, the company has grown to operate 24 gaming properties across multiple states with approximately 15,114 employees. As of March 2021, its market capitalization is $2.1 billion and its annual revenue reaches nearly $3.4 billion. The company’s first property opened at The Stardust Casino in Las Vegas in 1975, followed by the California Hotel & Casino in 1980 and Eldorado Casino downtown Reno in 1985. In 2000, the company acquired three poker rooms from Coast Casinos Inc., further expanding its portfolio. Other notable acquisitions include two Mississippi riverboat casinos; Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel and Treasure Chest Casino (both acquired separately 2007), more recently four casino properties form Pinnacle Entertainment Inc.(2018). Currently Boyd Gaming operates hotels and casinos throughout Nevada, Louisiana, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Mississippi that offer slots machines , table games , live Poker , Bingo , Sportsbooks , race books among other attractions.
