Whirlpool Corporation is an American multinational manufacturer and marketer of home appliances, founded by Lou Upton in 1911. It is headquartered in Benton Charter Township, Michigan, United States, near Benton Harbor. The company has a global presence with more than 70 manufacturing and technology research centers around the world. Initially, Whirlpool produced electric motors for washers before expanding into producing complete washing machines in 1929. Over time, the company diversified its product line to produce other household appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, microwaves along with accessories like stand mixers and water filters. In addition to manufacturing products under the Whirlpool brand name (the world’s largest appliance maker), they also produce kitchen appliances under KitchenAid, Jenn-Air and Maytag brands. Whirlpool focuses on innovation – introducing smart connected appliances that contribute to integrated home solutions; their goal is to continually provide customers with quality products and services at an affordable cost.
