Southern California Edison Company
Southern California Edison Company (SCE) is a publicly-owned utility that has been providing reliable electricity to the people of Southern California for more than 125 years. Established in 1908, SCE was initially responsible for providing electrical power to Los Angeles' street lights and arc lamps. Following the consolidation of several small utilities in 2001, SCE now provides service to more than 15 million people across 50,000 square miles. With more than 10,000 employees and headquartered in Rosemead, California, SCE serves customers through a network of approximately 19 million electric meters spread across central and Southern California. The company utilizes various forms of energy production such as hydroelectricity, geothermal plants, natural gas turbines and solar energy systems to provide clean power reliably and affordably; its highly trained field service personnel respond quickly to outages or problems on their vast distribution system to ensure a safe and efficient operation. To this day, SCE remains focused on delivering quality electricity services safely for the communities it serves throughout the region.
