Kinder Morgan
Kinder Morgan Inc. (NYSE: KMI) is a midstream energy company in North America that transports and stores natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. Founded in 1997 by Richard Kinder, William V. Morgan and Aubrey K. McClendon, the company has since grown to become one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in the world with over 84,000 miles of pipelines across North America and other assets such as terminals, storage facilities and more. In 2017 alone they transported 3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas which was 25% higher than their previous year's pipeline throughput. The company also owns interests in or operates approximately 180 terminals that are used to store a variety of products stored including gasoline, diesel fuel and ethanol. Kinder Morgan is currently trading at a market cap of $40 billion making it one of the biggest publically traded midstream operators in North America.
