The Pep Boys -- Manny, Moe & Jack is an automotive retail and service chain that was established nearly a century ago in 1921 by four friends: Emanuel Rosenfeld, Maurice L. Strauss, Graham "Jack" Jackson, and W. M Clarence ("Moe") Lewis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Today the company operates over 800 locations in 35 states across the United States and employes close to 25 thousand people. The Pep Boys offer vehicular parts such as tires, aftermarket car accessories; auto repair services including brakes and oil changes; commercial fleet management solutions; mobile installing van services for car audio products; and also provides vehicle inspections along with other professional services related to vehicle maintenance needs. The company underwent several ownership changes throughout its history until 2019 when it was purchased by Bridgestone Americas Inc., making it a subsidiary of one of world's largest tire makers with global operations headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
