Swedish Health Services
Swedish Health Services is a nonprofit healthcare provider operating in the Seattle, Washington area. Founded in 1910 as the first and only hospital in Seattle, Swedish has grown to become a comprehensive network of hospitals, treatment centers, clinics and research facilities throughout Washington State. With its original campus located in First Hill, by 1946 Swedish had outgrown its space and opened another facility nearby. In the 1950s, Swedish evolved into a self-contained health system providing tertiary care for most medical specialties including cardiology and vascular care, cancer care, neurological services and orthopedic surgery. Today Swedish maintains five main campuses—the largest being the Cherry Hill campus—nine emergency rooms across four counties and specialty services such as Sleep Medicine Centers at multiple locations. The organization also owns Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington which was acquired in 2012 through Providence Health & Services. With more than 13,000 employees committed to providing world-class patient care across all service areas; trust is at the center of what they do every day as they strive to be “The Best Place to Get Care” and “The Best Place to Give Care".
