Phillips 66 Company
Phillips 66 is an American multinational energy company with global operations in crude oil refining, marketing and transportation. It was a publicly traded independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products until it merged with Chevron Corporation in 2001. Phillips 66 Company traces its history to the 1917 founding of Phillips Petroleum Company by brothers Frank and L.E. Phillips from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. After separating from Chevron in 2005, it evolved into a Fortune 500 member focused on diversified energy businesses across the US and abroad. Today, the company operates 15 US refineries that process over 2 million barrels of crude oil per day and manufactures fuels such as gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel; specialty lubricants; chemicals; natural gas liquids (NGLs); pipeline transportation services; petrochemical products such as olefins and aromatics; and other petroleum-based products for both commercial use and consumers around the world.
