PG&E Corporation, founded in 1905 as Pacific Gas and Electric Company, is an investment holding company that manages its energy-related businesses through two primary operating subsidiaries: Pacific Gas and Electric Company (utility operations) and PG&E Energy Trading. It is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol PCG. PG&E provides natural gas and electric service to most of California’s population.
