Meijer
Meijer is a privately-owned American company that operates retail stores, primarily in the Midwestern United States. It was founded by Hendrik Meijer in 1934 as a barber shop, and later evolved into a grocery store chain. Today, Meijer is one of the largest supercenter operators in the United States, with over 250 locations across six states. In addition to groceries, clothing and household items are sold at their stores. Meijer also offers an extensive selection of financial services such as home banking, credit cards, money transfers and insurance products to meet their customers' needs. As of 2020 Meijer employs over 72 thousand people across its operations and had an estimated annual revenue of US$17 billion.
