McDonalds
McDonald's is one of the world's leading fast-food restaurant chains, providing hamburgers and other food items, as well as toys and games in Happy Meals for children. Founded by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald in 1940, this pioneering business grew from a single burger stand to a major international enterprise with more than 36,000 restaurants in 119 countries serving 68 million people every day. They started with a small burger stand in San Bernardino, California. The two brothers developed an assembly line process that allowed them to quickly serve customers carside, which they called the “Speedee Service System”. As their success grew so did their business model. The chain began expanding across the U.S., then eventually worldwide. In 1955 Ray Kroc joined the company after buying exclusive rights to franchising restaurants around the country and overseas. Now McDonald's is the second largest private employer in the world (behind Walmart) and carries iconic brands such as Big Macs, Egg McMuffins, Chicken McNuggets and McFlurry Desserts as part of its menu offerings.
