Henry Ford Health System
The Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) is a non-profit, integrated health care system based in Detroit, Michigan. Established in 1915 as Henry Ford Hospital by the auto pioneer and philanthropist, it became one of the first hospital corporations in the United States. It has grown over the years to include six hospitals, multiple ambulatory care and specialty service sites, primary care centers and home healthcare services for Southeast Michigan. HFHS also operates three medical group locations with 2,000 employed physicians and advanced practice providers belonging to nearly all specialties and subspecialties of medicine. All facilities are accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as well as National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The System provides innovative educational programs, evidenced-based research studies that result in improved patient outcomes; comprehensive cancer programs; specialized cardiovascular treatments; integrative medicine offerings including botanical therapy; sports training; physical rehabilitation programs; nursing and allied health educational opportunities among many others.
