Founded in 1866 as a Minneapolis-based flour milling company, it has since grown into a food conglomerate with operations spanning over 100 countries worldwide. General Mills produces a variety of cereals and snacks, yogurt and ice cream products, baking mixes and ingredients and more. Most notably, the company is renowned for its iconic line of breakfast cereals such as Cheerios®, Wheaties®, Trix® and Lucky Charms® which have become household names throughout America. The company also runs several other leading brands such as Pillsbury®, Green Giant® and Nature Valley®. As of 2019, General Mills reported total net sales of US$17 billion with operating profits of US$2 billion across all six business segments - Convenience Foods US/Canada; Europe & Australia; Latin America; Asia & Africa; Pet Food; Pacific International Ventures & Innovation Ventures Groups - reflecting year-over-year revenue growth for the sixth consecutive year.
