It was founded in 1985 as a division of Dean Witter, an American Securities firm. In 1993, it took on the name Discover Card and changed its name to Discover Financial Services in 2000 when it became an independent company. Today, Discover offers one of America's top-rated credit cards as well as products related to student loan refinancing and personal loans. The company operates geographically in all 50 states within the U.S., primarily marketed under its main brand: Discover Card. It has also developed its own network, Pulse, which looks at more than 5 million ATM locations worldwide; making it easier for customers to access their money quickly and conveniently at any time. Additionally, the company also has partnerships with various companies such as Diners Club International and PayPal that enable customers further usage options for their Discover product.
