Bass Pro Group, LLC is a private American retailer of outdoor recreation and sports equipment. Headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, the company was founded in 1972 by avid fisherman and conservationist Johnny Morris. Starting out as a small fishing store called “The Bass Pro Shops”, the company grew steadily including acquisitions of other stores such as Cabela’s which it acquired in 2017 for $4 billion dollars. Today Bass Pro Group owns more than 10 retail locations across North America and has over 25,000 employees worldwide. In addition to its brick-and-mortar outlets, it also operates several online stores including Bass pro shops Outfitters and Tracker Marine Center. The group provides a wide range of products ranging from boats and ATVs to hunting apparel and camping gear making them one of the largest sporting goods distributors globally with an estimated net worth of $7 billion dollars as of 2021.
