Terex Corporation is a global manufacturer of lift trucks, construction and mining equipment, road building products, and other material handling solutions for various industries. Founded in 1933 and headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, U.S., Terex has grown to become an international company with operations on five continents. The original business was founded by Everett Bacon to build steel fixtures for stores in the Rochester area. In its early years, the company produced firetrucks and agricultural machinery before transitioning into the manufacture of cranes during World War II. By 1960s Terex had transitioned to producing construction machines such as backhoes and front-end loaders for use around the world. Today Terex operates under several brands including Genie Aerial Work Platforms, Powerscreen Crushing & Screening Systems, Demag Mobile Cranes and Fuchs Material Handlers; collectively they form one of the largest companies specializing in aerial work platforms, crushing & screening systems or material handlers in the world.
