State Employees Credit Union (SECU) is a non-profit cooperative financial institution owned and operated by its members. SECU was established in 1937 as the State of North Carolina Employees' Credit Union with just eight members, primarily state employees. It has since grown to become North Carolina's largest credit union with more than 2.5 million members and over 290 branches throughout the state.
