Sky Chefs, Inc. is an American airline catering company with a long and rich history in the hospitality industry. Founded in 1929 by Henry and Elsie Krome as Sky Kitchens, Inc., the company changed its name to Sky Chefs three years later and soon became one of the earliest and most successful providers of airline catering services in the United States. Sky Chefs has since been acquired several times, most recently by Lufthansa Airline Group in 2002. Today, it is one of the largest airline caterers worldwide with over 200 production facilities throughout 50 countries on five continents. Their core offering includes ready-to-eat meals, packaged snacks and beverages for international airlines, domestic carriers, railroads, cruise lines and other customers.
