Riverside Health System is a not-for-profit health care provider dedicated to providing quality and compassionate healthcare services to those living in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and northeastern North Carolina. Founded in 1915 by a group of local business leaders, Riverside began with an 80-bed hospital constructed in downtown Newport News, Virginia. The organization quickly grew over the next century to include numerous hospitals, outpatient centers, post-acute care facilities, home health and hospice services, physician practices and other programs which serve more than 1.5 million individuals annually. In 2017 Riverside Health System integrated with its parent company Optima Health to become part of their larger network of healthcare providers serving patients across the state. Today Riverside continues its commitment to offering comprehensive healthcare services that focus on patient experience for those living in their region.
