Piedmont Airlines, Inc. is a regional airline founded in 1948 and based in Salisbury, North Carolina. It was originally founded as Piedmont Aviation to offer charter flights from North Wilkesboro, NC to nearby cities. In its early years, the company expanded operations and routes into the southeast United States and later merged with USAir in 1989 operating under the name ‘USAir Express’ until 1997 when it rebranded as ‘US Airways Express’ following their merger with US Air. The company changed its name to Piedmont Airlines in 2015 after being acquired by American Airlines Group and operates over 300 daily flights using a fleet of up-to-date aircraft staffed by highly trained professionals. Piedmont offers nonstop scheduled air service to various destinations throughout the United States as well as parts of Canada and Mexico through code sharing agreements with American Airlines and other member airlines of the Oneworld alliance.
