Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is a multinational automobile manufacturer established in 1933 and headquartered in Yokohama, Japan. Nissan was founded by Masujiro Hashimoto and Yoshisuke Aikawa as the holding company for Jidosha Seizo Co. Ltd, which was formed by three automotive part suppliers: Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works, Jitsuyo Jidosha Co., and Uchida Yoko Co. Nissan initially produced passenger cars powered by DAT engines, but quickly expanded to also provide commercial vehicles such as trucks and buses using its own engines internally-developed from 1933 through 1935. Since its founding, Nissan has grown to become one of the world's largest automakers with operations in over 120 countries and annual revenue surpassing 11 trillion yen.
