Mission Health System, Inc. is a not-for-profit health care system located in North Carolina and founded in 1885. The company’s mission is to “improve the health of the people and communities it serves through trusted personalized care”. Mission Health provides services through seven hospitals, over two dozen physician practices, outpatient surgery centers, laboratory services, home health services and more. They also offer specialized services including cancer care, heart and vascular care, behavioral health and women's and children's healthcare. In addition to its hospitals and medical practices, Mission Health provides an array of community events designed to educate those in the community about healthy living. Recently their system for “patient safety surveillance” was named “Most Wired Advanced” by Hospitals & Health Networks Magazine for its efforts towards improved patient outcomes via technological advancements.
