Koch Industries is an American-based multinational corporation with headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. It was founded in 1940 by brothers Fred and Charles Koch, initially as an oil refinery business, and has since grown to become one of the largest companies in the world. The company operates a wide range of businesses across many industries including technology, industry, finance and others. It is primarily focused on energy trading and investments; manufacturing chemicals for industrial use; producing fertilizers for agriculture; providing services to farmers such as grain storage and delivery systems; marketing consumer products such as Stainmaster carpeting and Lycra fabrics; supplying raw materials for textiles production; mining coal, natural gas and minerals from around the world; constructing pipelines; owning Invista fibers & intermediates group businesses used in apparel, hygiene products, automotive parts and building supplies production. In addition to this Koch Industries also owns other subsidiaries such as Georgia-Pacific lumber company and Flint Hills Resources which are involved in paper products production.
