Highland Hospital Of Rochester
Highland Hospital of Rochester was established in 1886 by Mary and Henry Wattles as one of the first hospitals outside of the city of Rochester, New York. Located atop a hill overlooking downtown Rochester, Highland Hospital initially served as an office building for various doctors and medical services. In 1906, it was redeveloped into a modern hospital that offered general medicine as well as specialized departments such as obstetrics, odontology and physical therapy. Over its 126 year history, Highland Hospital has grown from an 8-bed facility to a 277-bed acute care hospital offering comprehensive care in cardiology, cancer treatment, neurology, trauma care, pediatrics and rehabilitation. It also operates several ambulatory centers providing primary medical care and specialty services through its affiliated physicians. Throughout its history Highland Hospital has maintained its commitment to providing healthcare services with compassion and excellence while continuing to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
