Genesis Healthcare System is an American healthcare delivery system with over 500 locations in 10 states. Established in 1985 as a single hospital in Zanesville, Ohio, Genesis has since grown to become the largest provider of post-acute and rehab care services in the Eastern United States. Its network consists of two acute care hospitals, three long-term acute care hospitals (LTACs), seven critical access hospitals (CAHs), over 280 skilled nursing facilities and several senior living communities across ten states including Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and more. In addition to providing medical services, Genesis also offers other services such as home health therapy through its Therapy Services division and hospice related services through its Hospice Care division.
