Gannett Co., Inc is an international media and marketing solutions company that primarily serves the USA. It was founded in 1906 as a printer of newspaper inserts by Frank Gannett, a recently graduated university student who started with $250 borrowed from his grandfather to print posters and announcements. In 1950, Gannett Co. purchased its first newspaper, the Port Huron Times Herald. It soon evolved into a multibillion-dollar diversified media corporation and became the largest U.S.-based publisher of daily newspapers when it acquired USA Today in 2000.
