Gander Mountain Co. is an American retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, and other outdoor recreation products and services., established in 1960 in Wilmot, Wisconsin. It specializes in hunting, fishing, camping and other related outdoor recreation merchandise and services such as firearms examinations and firearm transfers. The company grew steadily from its original three stores to 162 stores located across 27 states by the year 2017. After filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the spring of 2017, Gander Mountain was acquired by Camping World Holdings Inc., in May of 2018 and re-launched as Gander Outdoors. With a focus on providing customers with a unique shopping experience featuring top national brands as well as top local brands from each store’s region, over 70 nationwide locations are now open to meet consumer’s needs for their outdoor lifestyle.
