Fordham University
Fordham University is a private research university founded in 1841. It is the Jesuit university of New York City and has three campuses, one located in the Bronx, another on Manhattan's historic Lincoln Square, and a third campus online which delivers education to communities around the world. Fordham offers over 60 degree programs across 10 schools such as Arts & Sciences; Education; Business Administration; Law; Health Sciences (including Nursing); Social Service; Religion & Religious Education; Communications & Media Studies and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. The school was originally established as St. John's College by Bishop John Hughes with the intention of providing quality education for students regardless of social or economic background. Since then, Fordham University has grown into an internationally recognized institution with teaching staff from leading higher education institutions around the globe offering degrees in many fields ranging from business administration to law to theology. In recent years, the university has adopted a number of new initiatives including a commitment to global engagement through study abroad programs and international exchange partnerships that have enabled students at all levels to experience different cultures around the world while still receiving a top-notch educator at home.
