Founded by Herbert Elam in 1937 as a small masonry business dedicated to providing quality workmanship for clients throughout the Bay Area, the company gradually grew over time adding new branches like carpentry and custom homebuilding up until 1951 when it shifted focus into more demanding contracts such as municipal bridges. By 1961 Herbert’s son Myron had joined the business which allowed it to expand even further into larger public works projects such as churches and schools. Today Elam Construction continues to provide exceptional construction services throughout California under the leadership of Myron's son Dave Elam who became president in 1998 bringing forth innovation while still upholding core values developed over four generations in business.
