Bemis Company, Inc. is a global manufacturer of flexible packaging and pressure sensitive materials used by leading food, consumer products, healthcare, and other companies worldwide. Founded in 1858 by Judson Moss Bemis as J.M. Bemis & Co., the company was originally based in Massachusetts and focused on manufacturing wood-based products such as barrels and boxes for storage and transportation. The business was eventually acquired by plastic packaging manufacturer Polyco Manufacturing Co in 1965 which changed its name to Polybemis Packaging Corporation; this later became the current company known as Bemis Company Inc following a merger with Aurora Plastics Corporation in 1969. Today, it operates across 16 countries with approximately 17,000 employees globally and around 70 facilities providing innovative solutions for customers from all over the world.
