Baylor Scott & White Holdings
Baylor Scott & White Holdings is a non-profit health care system based in Texas. It was formed in 2013 as the result of a merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare, two distinct organizations with deep histories in the healthcare industry. Prior to the merger, Baylor Health Care System had been providing health services since its inception in 1903, making Baylor one of the oldest healthcare providers in Texas. On the other hand, Scott & White was founded by two physicians more recently—in 1897—but has grown rapidly over its more than 100 years of operation into one of the largest multi-specialty groups in Texas and beyond. Together, these two organizations have successfully combined their resources to create an integrated network that provides access to high quality care for patients from all walks of life throughout much of Texas. The system currently employs nearly 53,000 individuals and operates 44 hospitals and 1,048 patient access points across the state.
