Baycare Health System
Baycare Health System is an integrated healthcare delivery system that serves the needs of West Central Florida. It was created in 1997 after Bayfront Medical Center and Morton Plant Hospitals merged to form what would eventually become BayCare. Since then, the system has expanded to include 14 hospitals, 30 physician practices, 16 outpatient imaging centers, 10 urgent care facilities, 4 ambulatory surgery centers and numerous other services. The BayCare Health System also includes a home health organization, hospice organization and WellStar ACO (Accountable Care Organization). BayCare’s mission is to improve the health of its communities through preventive services, wellness efforts and patient-centered innovative treatments. Through philanthropic activities and community projects such as Cancer Survivors Park in downtown Tampa and Mission in Motion Biking Club in Clearwater Beach, it seeks to provide healthier living conditions for its residents.
