Balfour Beatty Investments Inc is an international engineering and construction services company, headquartered in London with operations around the world. Founded in 1909 by George Balfour and Andrew Beatty, the company was initially known as Balfour & Beatty Ltd and was involved in large-scale building projects across the United Kingdom. By 1952, it had become one of Britain's largest construction companies and began acquiring other UK-based firms to expand its portfolio of services. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, it undertook a number of large infrastructure builds including power stations, airports, universities, hospitals, factories and nuclear facilities before entering the global market in 1980. In 2008 it purchased US construction firm Parsons Brinckerhoff to form what would become Balfour Beatty US Construction Services before undergoing a series of corporate restructuring exercises from 2014 onwards culminating in its current status as an investment firm with holdings across real estate and infrastructure sectors worldwide.
