Assisted Living Concepts Inc (ALC) is a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) that was founded in 1994. ALC owns and operates senior living communities, many of which it leases to its operating partner, The Enlivant Operating Group LLC. Its facilities provide independent living, assisted living and memory care services for seniors across the United States. In 2013, the company acquired 31 senior housing properties from Senior Housing Properties Trust for approximately $415 million and became one of the largest providers of senior housing in the country. The same year it entered into an agreement with Enlivant Operating Group LCC to operate its facilities on a long-term basis. As of 2020, ALC owns 126 properties across 23 states consisting of 11,165 units with 11,706 beds and has a total equity market capitalization of around $1 billion
