Willis-Knighton Medical Center
Willis-Knighton Medical Center is a multi-specialty healthcare provider, with its main campus located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Founded in 1924 as Pilgrim Sanitarium and DeSoto Hospital, the hospital became known as Willis-Knighton Medical Center when Lynch B. Willis Jr., M.D. and Robert L. Frank Sr., M.D joined forces to co-own and co-manage the rapidly growing care provider in 1940. Over time, Willis-Knighton has expanded into one of the largest healthcare organizations in North Louisiana; across its two campuses they offer acute care hospitals, pediatric specialists at The Children's Clinic, hundreds of physicians on staff representing every medical speciality available, along with coordinated home health services for those requiring ongoing care within their own homes or communities. This combined effort ensures comprehensive preventive measures to maintain optimum health for patients’ needs before a condition arises or worsens - often lessening more serious long term complications down the road associated with major medical issues left untreated or inappropriately addressed sooner rather than later due to lack of access available resources/care provided via a systems approach methodology element advocated by WKMC personnel team members/employees throughout Northwest Louisiana
