Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. is the North American subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, an international automotive manufacturing company based in Wolfsburg, Germany. Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, the company was established in 1955 and currently operates five production plants across the United States. It also has more than 600 dealerships throughout the country. The main products produced by Volkswagen Group of America are Audi and VW vehicles which include cars and SUVs like the Atlas Cross Sport SUV and Jetta sedan as well as luxury vehicles like Porsche's 911 sports car. In addition to producing these vehicles, it also owns 50% stakes in two joint ventures: Pirelli Tire North America Inc., one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers; and Navistar International Corp., a global manufacturer of commercial trucks, buses, engines and other components for transportation solutions.
