The Queen's Health Systems
The Queen's Health Systems is a non-profit healthcare organization with multiple hospitals and clinics in the state of Hawaii. Founded in 1859, it has grown to become one of the largest locally owned and operated health care systems in the US. Initially comprised of two care sites – The Queen’s Medical Center and Straub Clinic & Hospital, Queen’s expanded in 1969 to include Kaua'i Medical Clinic. Today, The Queen's Health Systems comprises medical centers and practices at locations across Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and Lanai Islands. It offers a full range of services including primary care/family medicine; specialty programs such as geriatrics, neurology, oncology; ambulatory services such as endocrinology; hospital services such as advanced surgical robots for minimally invasive surgery; urgent cares for minor illnesses or injuries; Rehabilitation facilities with access to physical therapists; home health services from nursing professionals; community outreach programs focusing on education about preventive health care services; public health initiatives seeking to reduce obesity and chronic diseases throughout Hawaiian communities; and research institutes pursuing advances in areas such disease prevention/control.
