The Hershey Company, commonly known as Hershey's, is an American food company that specializes in the manufacture and sale of confectionery products. It was founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 and began production of chocolate-based confections soon after. The company has grown over the years to become one of the largest producers of chocolate products worldwide as well as a major manufacturer of other snacks like gum, candy and baking ingredients such as syrups and toppings. The company operates several manufacturing plants across North America and also runs successful retail stores around the world.
