The Children's Mercy Hospital Corporation
The Children's Mercy Hospital Corporation is a non-profit children’s hospital located in Kansas City, Missouri. Established in 1897 through the donation of a local physician, Dr. Herbert J. Fister, it was one of the first pediatric hospitals west of the Mississippi River. Over its more than 120 year history, The Children's Mercy Hospital has grown to include three campuses - including a large teaching hospital in downtown Kansas City - and over 50 outreach clinics across Missouri and Kansas. It has become one of the leading pediatric medical centers in the country, performing groundbreaking research on critical children’s health issues such as genetic disorders and childhood illnesses. Today, The Children's Mercy Hospital serves over 200,000 patients per year from all 50 states and 59 countries around the world - providing comprehensive care for children with complex problems ranging from cardiac diseases to cancer to mental illness.
