Temple University Health System Inc was founded in 1994, when a group of leading Philadelphia physicians began creating the first multi-specialty health system in the region. Today, it is a non-profit academic medical center and teaching hospital that provides comprehensive healthcare services throughout parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They are affiliated with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, one of the largest medical schools in the country. Their core mission is to improve community health by providing high quality patient care, promoting wellness and educating healthcare professionals. The system includes two acute care hospitals — Temple University Hospital and Jeanes Hospital — along with several primary care and specialty practices throughout the region.
