Syracuse University
Syracuse University is a private research university based in Syracuse, New York. Founded in 1870, it was originally established as a Methodist-Episcopal seminary to serve the religious and educational needs of Central New York. Over time, it developed into the comprehensive institution of higher education that it is today. The University began offering bachelor’s degrees in 1880, master’s and doctoral programs shortly thereafter, and professional degrees beginning in 1900. Today, Syracuse boasts an enrollment of about 22,000 students from more than 150 countries and all 50 states who pursue degrees from 11 Schools and Colleges across its main campus as well as international and online programs around the world. With an emphasis on educating dedicated professionals through rigorous academic study paired with internships and community engagement opportunities, Syracuse strives to create globally conscious leaders ready to face the challenges of modern society.
