Southwest Key Programs, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1987 by Dr. Juan Sanchez and located in Austin, Texas. The mission of Southwest Key Programs, Inc. is to provide opportunities for and open doors to people’s success by providing quality social services in education, youth development and immigration programs across the United States. Southwest Key serves over 10 million individuals of all ages annually through their network of charitable social services, ranging from health care, mental health services to afterschool programs and juvenile justice initiatives; as well as direct operating support to hundreds of organizations throughout the US providing refugee resettlement services among other assistance. As a national leader on immigrant youth issues they are also widely recognized for its work at the U.S.-Mexico border with unaccompanied minors who have sought refuge there following recent increases in violence in Central America
