Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc is a holding company headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Founded in 1971, Sinclair is the largest owner of television stations in the United States by number of stations. The company has affiliations with all major networks and owns or operates local television stations across the country in many mid-sized and large markets, including affiliates of ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. Sinclair also owns four radio groups comprised of more than 100 stations across the country as well as various digital properties including streaming services and web domain names. In 2017, Sinclair purchased Tribune Media Company for $3.9 billion which increased its portfolio to include 42 additional local news outlets (such as KCPQ-TV Seattle) expanding its reach to households that represent 72 percent of U.S households by population coverage.
