Seattle Childrens Healthcare System
Seattle Children's is a not-for-profit hospital located in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to providing world-class pediatric care. The organization was established in 1907 as the “Children’s Orthopedic Hospital and Charities” to provide surgical services for children with orthopedic conditions like clubfoot. The name changed to “Childen’s Orthopedic Hospital and Medical Center” in 1953 after adding specialty clinics and other medical services. In 1975 it was renamed Seattle Children's Hospital and began offering primary care services and expanding its patient base across the Puget Sound region. Since then, the hospital has grown exponentially to become one of the leading pediatric health care providers in the country. Today, their expertise encompasses prevention, diagnosis, treatment and supportive care for children from infancy through young adulthood with a wide range of medical conditions—including cancer, diabetes, asthma and genetic disorders—as well as emerging adult health issues like sports medicine injuries or depression.
