SAIA Motor Freight Line is a national transportation company founded in 1924. It was originally a small regional carrier that served Texas, Missouri and Arkansas. In the 1950s the company began expanding its service area to include Oklahoma, Kansas and parts of Louisiana. In 1977 SAIA became a national carrier offering services throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. Today it offers more than just basic motor freight services; its solutions also include Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), truckload, temperature controlled/refrigerated services, international ocean containers/airfreight forwarding services, specialized hauling and intermodal capabilities. The company operates over 250 service centers in 46 states, three Canadian provinces and Mexico with nearly 300 terminals located across these areas.
