Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RUJH) is a 965-bed, acute care hospital located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Founded in 1884 as a 30-bed hospital called The New Brunswick City Hospital on George Street, it has evolved over the past 130 years to become an international leader in patient care, education and research. As the flagship medical center of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), RUJH continues to set new standards for excellence in delivering comprehensive clinical services to central New Jersey and beyond. Home to New Jersey's first pediatric emergency department and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, RUJH treats more than 32,000 patients each year from across the United States and around the world. Additionally, RUJH is also affiliated with RWJBarnabas Health–New Jersey’s largest integrated health system—and serves as an academic healthcare center for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University.
