Perdue
The Perdue family has been involved in the poultry business for over a century. In 1920, Arthur W. Perdue founded what would eventually become Perdue Farms, Inc., becoming the first vertically integrated poultry company in the United States. Over the years, the company diversified its product offerings to include boneless chicken and turkey products as well as convenience foods such as salad kits and meal starters. Today, Perdue Farms is one of the largest poultry producers in the country and still family-owned with fourth-generation leadership at its helm. The company produces more than 3 billion pounds of chicken, turkey and pork products each year while maintaining responsible farming practices designed to protect animal welfare and sustainability efforts.
