Owens Corning is an American global producer of insulation, roofing and fiberglass composites founded in 1938 in Toledo, Ohio. The company’s core businesses are organized into three segments: Composites, Insulation and Roofing. Its products are used to provide thermal efficiency, fire protection and improved acoustics for residential buildings as well as commercial applications. It also produces a wide range of composite products including plates, tubes, rods or structural components that can be found in the automotive and consumer electronics industries. In 1950 Owens Corning developed “Fibreglass” which revolutionized the building industry by providing greater energy efficiency than other traditional materials such as wood or masonry blocks required less maintenance over time compared to those alternatives. Over the years it has added several new product lines under many different brands to extend its reach globally resulting in more than 70 facilities across 24 countries today with 19000 employees worldwide dedicated to creating quality sustainable solutions for architectural needs today along with developing new technologies and innovations that will benefit future generations.
