Nyu Winthrop Hospital
NYU Winthrop Hospital is an academic medical center located in Mineola, New York. It was founded in 1896 as the Nassau Hospital by a group of local citizens who were concerned about providing health care to their community and has since grown into a 591-bed teaching hospital affiliated with NYU Langone Health. The facility provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, neurology/neurosurgery, orthopedics/sports medicine, women’s health and radiation therapy. NYU Winthrop also operates an extensive network of specialty centers throughout Long Island that provide primary care services including family practice; internal medicine; pediatrics; obstetrics & gynecology; geriatrics; urology; ophthalmology; pulmonology; endocrinology and more. In addition to its clinical services division it offers research programs in areas such as diabetes mellitus and other metabolic diseases, cancer biology and genetics among others.
