NHS Human Services, Inc
NHS Human Services, Inc., is a non-profit human services organization providing services to approximately 70,000 individuals and families in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. NHS has roots dating back to 1966 when National Mental Health Association was founded as an advocacy group for individuals with mental health needs. Through mergers and acquisitions of other agencies over the years, NHS has grown into one of the largest providers of treatment and recovery programs for those with disabilities or behavioral health challenges in its five-state service region. In 2013 the National Mental Health Association was rebranded as NHS Human Services based on its commitment to community support services which include residential programs; adult developmental disability services; therapeutic foster care; individualized supports; children's behavioral health therapies; juvenile justice programs among many other specialized programs designed to help vulnerable populations lead more independent lives in their homes and communities. The company also provides discretionary contributions through its Community Impact Fund that are aimed at helping local organizations create positive change within their respective communities throughout the region they serve.
