Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation
The Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation, commonly known as simply Milwaukee, is an American manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial tools and accessories founded in 1924. It began as the A.H. Petersen Company which was a business that sold automotive supplies and included hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, hammers, and other general purpose tools to repair machinery. By the mid 1930s, the company had broadened its focus to include electric tools for professional tradesmen including drill drivers and saws powered by either battery or electricity. In 1955 it renamed itself the Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation registering its trademark logo of a silhouette of an electrician framed against a bright yellow background. Its reputation grew over time with frequent product innovation such as patented Quick-Lok ™ system released in 1966 which allowed people to exchange drill bits quickly and easily without pulling out their tool bags each time they switched between tasks. Notable products since then have included the Sawzall®, Hole-Hawg® premix drills, Super Hawg® right angle drills along with various related accessories all built for maximum durability to serve customers needs while providing industry leading performance standards.
